Kyla Searle hails from the Bay Area. Her work and practice have been developed through the Institute for Theatre in the Jazz Aesthetic, the Hemispheric Institute, the Institute for Arts and Civic Dialogue, and the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts. She has worked with Lincoln Center, Links Hall, New Dramatists, Soho Rep, and La Mama ETC. As a dramaturg Kyla has been recognized by the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival and the Eugene O’Neill Theater Center. Her work in creative research has been presented at the University of Heidelberg, the American University in Paris, New York University and the New School. She holds a BA in Metropolitan Studies, minor in Public Health from UCLA and an MA in Interdisciplinary Research from NYU. She is currently pursuing her MFA at Brown University.
